Newbury hosts it's premier two-year-old contest on Saturday, the Mill Reef Stakes, and while there are none in the line up that could possible be as good as it's namesake there are some promising horses engaged and the Racing and Sports Pricing Model has lit up around one that looks set to go off attractively priced relative to the Model's assessment.

That horse is Bahrain Pride who runs for the Crisford yard who are one of the variables that the Model has picked up and run with.

The stable is striking at 36% with their last 50 runners and link up with James Doyle at 29%. Good numbers. Link them up with market chances with good last start ratings and things get very attractive - more attractive than the 5-1 being bet early doors.

The early favourite is Fivethousandtoone who was beaten by Bahrain Pride on debut. Bahrain Pride then improved to win in fairly slick time at Ripon.

Fivethousandtoone also improved, looking the part at Newcastle, but he didn't do anything better than what Bahrain Pride did against the clock and the price discrepancy looks unfair. Of course it was odds on Fivethousandtoone v 9-2 Bahrain Pride on debut - and that counts for something - but views can be update fairly quickly with two-year-olds and the Model is twitchy in this regard, preferring form to prices. And in this case that makes Bahrain Pride the gamble.
