The Mornington stable of Anthony and Sam Freedman drew first blood at Morphettville on Saturday when Design took out the opening event of 2500 metres.

Guided by Zac Spain the four-year-old mare Design led all the way to register her fourth win form eighteen starts.

Racing for the SA Racing Awards scheme Hope in Hand took out the 1000 metre second race.

Having the services of apprentice Teagan Voorham and coming out of the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas stable Hope in Hand came from a midfield position to record a strong win.

Fresh from winning a race at Mount Gambier on Friday hoop Jeffery Maund steered Smart Promise to a win in the 1600 metre third race.

Prepared by John Hickmott and Carina Riggs stable at Murray Bridge Smart Promise  came from well back with a strong run over the concluding stages.

Racing for the first time after a spell Vampire Slayer gave the Gawler training combination of Kerri McAnulty and Clint Binnie a win in the 1000 metre fourth race.

Guided to a nice win by Jake Toeroek Vampire Slayer  led all the way.

Jockey Jake Toeroek brought up the second leg of a running double when he rode Somewhat Fabulous to a win in the 1200 metre fifth race.

Giving the training combination of Richard and Chantelle Jolly a win Somewhat Fabulous settled at the rear before coming with a strong rails run late in the event to win in a close photo.

A well-timed run by jockey Kayla Crowther saw Gaze Grise take out the 1050 metre sixth race.

Prepared by David Jolly and having her second run after a spell Gaze Grise came from well back to bring up a strong win.

Coming off a last start second Capricorn Ridge presented Victorian apprentice Lewis German with a win in the 1800 metre seventh race.

Giving Murray Bridge trainer Matthew Seyers a win Capricorn Ridge came from a rearward position to record a strong win.

Showing a liking for the Morphettville track Lombardo won his second Adelaide race in 6 months when he took out the listed Manihi Classic which was run over 1100 metres.

Prepared at Cranbourne by the training combination of Mick Price and Michael Kent Jun the Zac Spain ridden Lombardo began well and maintained a froward position throughout the event.

After figuring in the placings in earlier races Barend Vorster ended a frustrating day with a win on Aiguilette in the 1200 metre final event.

Prepared at Goolwa by John Macmillan Aiguilette came from a rearward position along the rails to record a close win.
