Morphettville Parks Races Review on 24th September 2022

Trainer Travis Doudle brought up his second win in two days when Merchant Boss took out the 1550 metre opening race on the Parks track at Morphettville on Saturday.

Breaking his maiden-status the Jason Benbow ridden Merchant Boss  led all the way and will have his next start in the listed 1800 metre Hill Smith Stakes.

It was an all-Stokes affair when the Phillip Stokes trained Trumpsta won the 1950 metre second.

Owned by Phillips parents Ron and Mary the Ellis Wong ridden Trumpsta settled well before going on to claim the event.

Coming off a last start third at Mindarie-Halidon the three-year-old Hallstatt opened his winning account when he took out the 1000 metre third race.

Having the services of apprentice Lachlan Neindorf the Gordan Richards and Damian Moyle prepared Hallstatt came from a rearward position with a strong run in the straight.

Warrnambool trainer Tom Dabernig  was well pleased with the win of Melba Storm in the 1250 metre fourth race.

Coming off a last start seventh at Geelong the Barend Vorster guided Melba Storm raced one off the pace to register her sixth win from fourteen starts.

Apprentice Lachlan Neindorf brought up his second winner for the day when Hankstar took out the 1400 metre fifth race.

In an emotional win the Peter Nolan prepared Hankstar sat one off the pace with a strong run in the straight to win.

Barend Vorster secured his second win for the day when Daring Move took out the 1000 metre sixth race.

Bringing up successive wins for the training duo of Richard and Chantelle Jolly Daring Move was well placed before beating his stable mate Keep Reading to give the stable the quinella.

The win of the five-year-old mare Fields of Athenry gave her new owners an early payday when she took out the 1000 metre seventh race.

Prepared at Goolwa by David Jolly and having the services of Sophie Logan Fields of Athenry came from well back with a strong run late in the race.

Apprentice Ellis Wong brought up his second winner for the day when the grey gelding Neodium won the 1550 metre eighth race.

Giving trainer Phillip Stokes his second winner for the day Neodium led all the way.

Mount Gambier trainer Michael O'Leary rounded off a good day of racing when his charge Scenic Host took out the 1250 metre final event.

Guided to victory by Jacob Opperman Scenic Host came from a midfield position with a strong run late in the race.
