Bulldogs' Jong to miss start of AFL season

3 minute read

A hamstring tear will sideline luckless Western Bulldogs onballer Lin Jong for about two months.

Lin Jong's wretched luck with injury has struck again and the Western Bulldogs onballer is now out of action for two months.

The midfielder suffered a serious hamstring tear at Thursday training and the Bulldogs expect him to be sidelined for eight to 10 weeks.

The 25-year-old has only managed 61 games since his 2012 debut, never playing more than 16 in a season.

He was denied a possible berth in the Bulldogs' drought-breaking 2016 premiership team when he suffered a broken collarbone in their elimination final win.

Jong also needed a knee reconstruction two years ago and needed surgery again last year for another broken collarbone.

First-year Bulldogs defender Buku Khamis also suffered a knee injury in a marking contest on Thursday and is expected to be be out of action for six to eight weeks.
