West Coast's premiership winger Lewis Jetta says he only celebrated the flag win for a couple of weeks before re-setting for the next AFL challenge.

Lewis Jetta knew he couldn't savour the view from the AFL summit for too long.

Jetta is now a dual premiership player, winnings flags in Sydney in 2012 and last season at West Coast.

But the 29-year-old says it didn't take him long to re-set after the Eagles' stirring grand final win against Collingwood last year.

"I realised probably two or three weeks after the actual game, I have got to get straight back into 2019 mode," Jetta told AAP on Wednesday.

"Even though it was still 2018, I knew I had to kick straight back into it and park it to one side.

"It was an amazing thing, getting to the top again. But now it's a whole new season so it starts again."

Jetta, in Adelaide for the AFL's indigenous player summit, strained his calf in the second quarter of West Coast's five-point thriller over the Magpies.

He also suffered calf problems in May last year and has been bothered by the same injury in previous years, which has led to an altered pre-season program.

"My pre-season has been really good, I have had a stairs program just to get my calf stronger which has really worked," he said.

"So other than that, no injuries, my body is feeling really good, I feel stronger and fitter.

"The boys are still pretty hungry and have come back even fitter so that is a good sign.

"Hopefully all the work we have done in pre-season pays off but it's still early days yet, we have still got a lot of work to do and a lot of training to do."
