AFLW expansion team Richmond have traded their No.1 draft pick to recruit Western Bulldogs star Monique Conti.

It's another major blow for last year's AFLW premiers, who lost Emma Kearney to North Melbourne this season.

Bulldogs co-captain Emma Kearney also left for the Tigers earlier this month.

Conti, 19, is one of the AFLW's biggest talents and also plays for the Melbourne Boomers in the WNBL.

After best-afield honours in the Bulldogs' grand final win, Conti won their best-and-fairest award this season and also made her first All-Australian team.
