Port Adelaide co-captain Tom Jonas is yet to overcome a calf injury and will miss Friday night's AFL clash with Collingwood at Marvel Stadium.

Port Adelaide have lost another key player for Friday night's AFL game against Collingwood with Tom Jonas joining Robbie Gray on the sidelines.

Jonas (calf) has been ruled out of the Marvel Stadium clash, having been a late withdrawal for last week's win over North Melbourne.

Star forward Gray will miss the next month after having surgery on a broken hand.

Port also revealed Hamish Hartlett remains at least a month away from making his AFL comeback.

The defender has experienced complications relating to his knee reconstruction surgery last April in which a graft was taken from his hamstring.

"Unfortunately, Hamish is having some issues with the graft site from the ACL operation he had last season," Port medical boss Tim O'Leary said.

"He is working through the appropriate progressions to return to full fitness over the next month or so."

Crosstown rivals Adelaide had better news on the injury front with Wayne Milera expected to avoid surgery on his injured shoulder.

The Crows are hopeful Milera, who hurt his AC joint during the round five game against Gold Coast, could return within the next month.

Veteran midfielder Bryce Gibbs looks set to return to face Fremantle on Sunday after missing last week's win over St Kilda with a stomach bug.

St Kilda revealed on Tuesday that small forward Jack Lonie will miss up to 10 weeks after having surgery on his injured knee.

Lonie avoided a season-ending ACL rupture but sustained ligament damage when he hyper-extended his right knee during the loss to the Crows.

Fellow forward Josh Bruce (leg tightness) faces a fitness test ahead of Saturday's trip to Canberra to face GWS.

Hawthorn veteran Shaun Burgoyne is also looking to prove his fitness for Saturday's clash with Melbourne after missing the past four weeks with a hamstring injury.

Gold Coast could welcome back Sean Lemmens (ankle) and Wil Powell (concussion) to face West Coast at Optus Stadium.

Melbourne's Jack Viney (shoulder), GWS star Lachie Whitfield (thigh) and Sydney's Lance Franklin (hamstring) are among other big names set to miss round seven.
