PREVIEW OF FIRST PART OF AFL ROUND 14 MATCHES (all times AEST)

THURSDAY, June 20

West Coast v Essendon at Optus Stadium, 8.10pm

Head to head: Eagles 23 Bombers 29 drawn 0

Last clash: Round 14, 2018 - Bombers 12.8 (80) bt Eagles 6.16 (52) at Optus Stadium

West Coast coach Adam Simpson has swung the axe in the wake of the 45-point loss to Sydney, making six changes. The return from injury of Shannon Hurn and Elliot Yeo is a huge double boost, but Willie Rioli's suspension hurts. The Bombers have revived their finals hopes following wins over Carlton and Hawthorn, but they lost Jake Stringer to a leg injury. Essendon will take heart from their most recent visit to Perth, when they opened up a 50-1 lead against West Coast on the way to a 28-point win last year.

Key: Stopping Essendon's rebound. The Bombers' run out of defence has proven to be a key weapon, including in their most recent trip to Perth. Can West Coast's forwards curtail Essendon's bounce from defence?

Tip: Eagles by 21
