Fremantle goalsneak Sam Switkowski has struggled to kick many goals this season, but his frenetic tackling has been crucial for the Dockers.
He was almost the match-winner against Carlton last week, but Fremantle forward Sam Switkowski wants to be known for his hard tackling as much as his goals.
Switkowski's snap put Fremantle up by two points with 70 seconds to go against Carlton last Sunday.
But the Dockers were left heartbroken after Blues veteran Marc Murphy booted a goal with just 35 seconds remaining to lift his side to a four-point win.
Switkowski, who was taken with pick No.73 in the 2017 national draft, has booted just four goals in his 11 games this season.
But his hard tackling and frenetic pressure has added vital tenacity to Fremantle's forward line.
The 22-year-old is averaging almost five tackles per game and he'll be aiming to cause more panic in Saturday night's western derby against West Coast.
"Tackling is a big focus for me," Switkowski said.
"I'm a defensive pressure forward, so I focus less on the disposals and goals and more on that chase, pressure and tackle.
"I think it's a strength of mine, and that's why they brought me to the club. I'll continue to work on those strengths."
Switkowski couldn't help but lament what could have been against the Blues.
"It was good to put the goal through. I knew it was very late in the game, so it could have been the game winner," Switkowski said.
"There was about a minute to go after that, so we were focused on trying to get numbers back after that centre bounce.
"It would have been nice to win, but that's footy."
Fremantle have lost eight derbies in a row, and Switkowski is keen to help the Dockers end that losing run.
"It would be awesome to get one back on them," he said.
"And it's important for us to get a win to set us up for the rest of the year."
Fremantle have rolled the dice by handing recalls to Aaron Sandilands (calf) and Rory Lobb (foot fracture).
West Coast have been boosted by the return of Tom Barrass and Jeremy McGovern.
