SNAPSHOT OF BRISBANE -RICHMOND AFL QUALIFYING FINAL:

* Result: Richmond 18.4 (112) beat Brisbane 8.17 (65) in front of 37,478 at the Gabba.

* The lowdown: Inaccurate kicking and a rampant Dustin Martin proved the difference in front of the biggest AFL crowd at the Gabba. The Lions weren't short of support at the sellout venue but their wayward boot and a merciless Tigers ensured Brisbane suffered a loss for the first time in their 13th final at the Gabba. It marked Richmond's 14th-straight win over Brisbane since 2009.

* Key moment: Any time a Brisbane forward lined up in front of goal in the second term. The Lions started the second quarter full of momentum, holding a 12-point lead. But poor kicking in front and Richmond's ability to make them pay by turning half chances into majors ensured the Tigers kicked away in the second term, at one stage booting nine-straight majors to turn a tight contest into a blowout.

* Key stats: Richmond talisman Dustin Martin proved the difference, kicking six goals and tallying 14 touches.

* Injuries: Brisbane's Mitch Robinson limped off with a hamstring complaint in the final quarter.

* What's next? Brisbane take on GWS next weekend at the Gabba in a semi-final, while Richmond have a week off before playing a preliminary final at the MCG against the winner of the West Coast-Geelong semi.
