Brisbane ready to face GWS star Greene

He's heading to Brisbane a bit lighter in the wallet and Brisbane say they're ready to take on GWS star Toby Greene in Saturday's AFL semi-final at the Gabba.

Brisbane midfielder Jarrod Berry says the Lions are ready to give GWS star Toby Greene more time to reconsider holiday plans after Saturday's AFL semi-final.

Greene was slapped with a $7500 fine by the AFL Tribunal after pleading guilty to a serious misconduct charge on Monday, but the decision means he's free to play for the Giants against the Lions at the Gabba.

While some believed Greene was lucky to avoid a ban for the ugly incident involving Western Bulldogs player Marcus Bontempelli in last Saturday's elimination final, Berry was nonplussed about what it meant for the Lions.

"He got his fine. That'll hurt his off-season travels," Berry said.

"It is what it is, we're prepared to play him or anyone that's going to be in that team, we're ready."

Lions coach Chris Fagan refused to be drawn on whether Greene's punishment was sufficient, and pointed out his team had already beaten the Giants this year with the small forward in the opposition.

"The only interest I had on it was whether he was going to be suspended or not and he wasn't so he's playing," Fagan said.

"Toby played last time we played GWS at their ground.

"He's a terrific player, I'm glad for him that he's playing and that's sort of not something I spend any time concerning myself with."

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
