Defender Alex Keath is the latest to depart the Adelaide Crows, seeking an AFL trade to the Western Bulldogs.

Keath, soon to fall off-contract, had long been touted as a trade prospect with the Crows baulking at a long-term deal.

But the 27-year-old has nominated the Bulldogs as his preferred new club ahead of the trade period starting October 7.

"The Bulldogs will work with the Adelaide Crows on a deal," the Dogs said in a statement.

Keath joins Josh Jenkins and Sam Jacobs in confirming their exit from the Crows, who are currently searching for a new coach.

The futures of star forward Eddie Betts, who has been linked with a return to Carlton, and Hugh Greenwood remain uncertain.

Adelaide midfielder Brad Crouch is also understood to be fielding a cashed-up offer from the Gold Coast.

The Crows hope to name a new coach within weeks after Don Pyke quit a fortnight ago.

Pyke's resignation comes amid an external review into the club led by Hawthorn great Jason Dunstall.

The review panel is also expected to deliver its findings to the club board within weeks, with further changes in the football department likely.
