Isabella Grant, the daughter of Western Bulldogs great Chris Grant, will join the club through the AFLW draft.

Isabella Grant will join famous dad Chris at the Western Bulldogs, with her AFLW father-daughter draft selection confirmed.

Geelong also will recruit Millie Brown, the daughter of former Cats half-forward Paul Brown.

The AFLW said the Bulldogs and Cats had matched bids from multiple clubs to secure Grant and Brown through the October 22 draft.

The only other father-daughter selection has been Abby McKay following Andy to Carlton.

Grant played 341 games for the Bulldogs from 1990-2007, second only to the Brad Johnson's club record of 364, and now is their football director.

Brown played 84 games for Geelong in the 1990s, including their losing '94 and '95 grand finals.

Grant, 18, was doing homework when she was rung with the news.

"It had been a long build up - I got to train with them a few times with the academy and then finding out that I could actually be a part of that culture and that team, it was amazing," she said.

She started playing football four years ago.

"I've enjoyed it as much as I'm sure Issy has, because it's a great opportunity to have your children play the game that you love.

"The last four years have been a steep learning curve for her, but she's absolutely loved it, and whilst there is still a lot of work in front of her in regard to her football development, both Mel and I couldn't be more proud of the way she has combined her football with all other aspects of her life."

Brown has enjoyed a strong season, captaining the Murray Bushrangers as well as co-captaining Victorian Country.

The key defender also played for Geelong's VFLW team.

"After playing a number of different roles in recent seasons, Millie took her game to a new level this year," said Geelong's AFLW list boss Ben Waller.

"It was great to then see Millie take this confidence into her three VFLW games with us late in the season, where she looked at home in the hoops."
