Geelong swingman Lachie Henderson is on the search for a fourth AFL club after the Cats declined to offer him a contract for next year.

The 29-year-old has played 171 games in stints with Brisbane, Carlton and Geelong including 11 finals.

Henderson, the No.8 pick at the 2007 draft, was a key part of the Cats' back six in his first two seasons after switching from the Blues but has been hampered by persistent knee injuries over the past two years.

"Lachie filled a number of roles with us and we wish him well in his future," Geelong list manager Stephen Wells said.

"Lachie has shown himself to be a selfless clubman and a great teammate over his time with the Cats.

"He helped us win a lot of games and always took up whatever role we needed him to do."

The Cats had already delisted Scott Selwood, Wylie Buzz, Jordan Cunico and Jamaine Jones before Wednesday's announcement.

Tim Kelly (Eagles) and Zac Smith (Gold Coast) departed during the trade period.

In further moves, rookies Zach Guthrie and Sam Simpson will be promoted to the senior list, while Ryan Abbott and Oscar Brownless will be delisted and moved to the rookie list.
