RICHMOND

Coach: Damien Hardwick

Captain: Trent Cotchin

Last five years: 1-3-1-13-7

Premierships: 12 (1920-21, 1932, 1934, 1943, 1967, 1969, 1973-74, 1980, 2017, 2019).

Key five: Dustin Martin, Jack Riewoldt, Tom Lynch, Trent Cotchin, Dylan Grimes.

One to watch: Marlion Pickett. The mature-age recruit produced one of the most remarkable debuts in AFL history when he shone on grand final day last year, almost claiming the Norm Smith Medal a week after he was best afield in the VFL grand final. He was immediately granted 'cult hero' status with the Tiger Army. Pickett, 28, has the ability to have an influence inside and outside the play and can also be dangerous around goals. A first full AFL pre-season program will prepare him well.

Ins: Noah Cumberland (Brisbane NEAFL), Thomson Dow (Bendigo U18), Will Martyn (Brisbane NEAFL), Bigoa Nyoun (Dandenong U18), Hugo Ralphsmith (Sandringham U18).

Outs: Dan Butler (St Kilda), Brandon Ellis (free agency - Gold Coast), Shaun Grigg (retired), Connor Menadue (delisted), Callum Moore (delisted), Alex Rance (retired), Jacob Townsend (delisted rookie), Maverick Weller (retired).

Best line-up:

B: Noah Balta, Dylan Grimes, David Astbury

HB: Bachar Houli, Nick Vlastuin, Jayden Short

C: Marlion Pickett, Trent Cotchin, Josh Caddy

HF: Shai Bolton, Tom Lynch, Shane Edwards

F: Daniel Rioli, Jack Riewoldt, Jason Castagna

R: Toby Nankervis, Dustin Martin, Dion Prestia

I: Ivan Soldo, Kane Lambert, Sydney Stack, Jack Graham

Predicted finish: 1st
