A SNAPSHOT OF ROUND FIVE OF THE 2020 AFLW SEASON

STATS THAT MATTER: Melbourne conceded just seven points against West Coast on Sunday and have shipped just 84 points across the first five games - a seriously miserly effort.

PLAYER OF THE ROUND: Cora Staunton overcame a horrible leg break to get up for this season and turned in a superb matchwinning performance against the Tigers, booting four goals.

KEY MOMENT: Kicking against the wind in the second quarter of their clash with West Coast, Melbourne strung together a clever passage of play down the wing, ending in Sarah Lampard running into an open goal. It gave the Demons an 11-point halftime lead and they never looked back from there, keeping the Eagles scoreless after the main break.

TALKING POINT: Richmond entered their first AFLW season with plenty of hype, given their big-name recruits, but have had a difficult time of things. They are winless so far and have started shipping big scores, too.

KEY INJURIES: Erin Phillips missed Adelaide's loss to North Melbourne with knee soreness. Melbourne: Eden Zanker (shin), Fremantle: Roxanne Roux (eye), GWS: Nicola Barr (hamstring)

WHAT'S NEXT: The Cats will look to upset North Melbourne in Geelong on Friday, while on Saturday, Brisbane take on Collingwood and Melbourne host Carlton in Alice Springs in a tantalising Conference B clash.
