Brisbane key defender Marcus Adams is facing up to two months on the AFL sidelines due to a foot complaint.

The former Western Bulldogs player had the foot operated on after the opening round of the season but has reported ongoing discomfort.

Scans have revealed a stress fracture in one of the bones of his foot and the 27-year-old will now be forced to rest the injury.

"That's going to take a little bit longer than we thought, so he might be another six to eight weeks just to let that settle,' Lions high-performance manager Damien Austin said.

"That's a hit but we just have to roll with it."

The Lions have confirmed Cam Ellis-Yolmen's calf injury in last weekend's win over Port Adelaide will rule him out for up to two weeks.

Captain Dayne Zorko has, as expected, been cleared to return from his own calf injury for matches against Geelong and GWS in NSW.

Meanwhile, second-year midfielder Connor McFadyen's season is over after he ruptured an ACL in match simulation training last Saturday.

The youngster will undergo a knee reconstruction this week and is facing up to 12 months on the sidelines.
