AFL young gun Jack Silvagni will be sidelined for a further four to six weeks with the Carlton forward having knee surgery in Perth.
Jack Silvagni's horror run with injuries has continued with the Carlton forward undergoing knee surgery that will sideline him for up to six weeks.
The 22-year-old has played just three games this AFL season, suffering a bruised lung and fractured rib before his current knee injury.
The club announced on Saturday he would have surgery in Perth on Monday, described as a "small ITB (Iliotibial Band) release procedure".
Blues head of football Brad Lloyd said the operation would help Silvagni recover from a knee injury.
"This is a standard procedure that we're confident will aid Jack's recovery and we expect him to miss between 4-6 weeks," Lloyd said.
Carlton next play West Coast on Sunday afternoon at Perth's Optus Stadium.
