Crows part with AFL assistant coach trio

3 minute read

AFL wooden-spooners Adelaide have parted with three assistant coaches, Ben Hart, Mick Godden and Brent Reilly.

AFL wooden-spooners Adelaide have parted with three assistant coaches.

Ben Hart and Mick Godden won't be at the South Australian club next season.

Hart is returning to Melbourne, citing family reasons, while the contract of Godden won't be renewed, the Crows said on Tuesday.

Brent Reilly, who was a development coach but became an assistant mid-season when another assistant Martin Mattner quit, has also been told he won't be an assistant next season.

Reilly is likely to remain at the club in some capacity but the departures will leave head coach Matthew Nicks with an entirely fresh group of assistants next season.

Nicks won just three games in his first season as Adelaide's head coach, with all his assistants appointed before his arrival.

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
