Trent Cotchin says his journey to become Richmond's first triple premiership captain has been "one hell of an adventure".

Cotchin led the Tigers to a 31-point grand-final win against Geelong on Saturday night - his third flag in four seasons.

The Tiger skipper is lauding how the Tigers coped in a Queensland Hub amid the coronavirus-impacted season.

"We have spoken a lot about the journey and we effectively celebrate it," he told the Seven Network.

"We came out here (Queensland) however many days ago it was - about 110, I think - treating it like an adventure.

"It has been one hell of an adventure. And to finish off with this is just simply outstanding and I couldn't be more proud of our whole organisation."

Richmond came from 22 points down late in the second quarter to triumph, with Cotchin collecting 19 disposals and laying four tackles.

"Credit to Geelong ... they challenged us," he said.

"But credit to our boys, they just continued to show the resilience that we know they can."

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
