Port hope Rozee will return in a month

3 minute read

Port Adelaide's Connor Rozee could be back playing within a month after having foot surgery to remove a small piece of scar tissue.

Port Adelaide are hopeful Connor Rozee will be back playing within a month after the emerging star underwent surgery to fix an issue with a joint in his right foot.

Rozee underwent surgery in Sydney on Tuesday to remove a small piece of scar tissue next to a joint on the outside of his foot.

The injury is separate to the plantar fascia problem that sidelined him for a short period last year.

The Power say Rozee has no ongoing issue with that part of his foot.

"The unique injury did not appear to be a major issue but it was causing intermittent impingement in the joint and making Connor uncomfortable at times," Port Adelaide's head of medical services Tim O'Leary said.

"Given the issue was unpredictable, the surgery is expected to solve the problem in the long-term and allow Connor to play unimpeded going forward.

"If all goes to plan, we would expect to see him back playing within a month."

Rozee kicked two goals and tallied 16 disposals and nine marks in his team's 71-point win over Adelaide last weekend.

The 21-year-old has kicked 38 goals in 38 games and looms as an important part of Port's premiership charge this year.
