Collingwood duo Brodie Grundy and Jordan De Goey are set to face Brisbane in the AFL after both returned negative COVID-19 test results.

The pair missed training on Monday with what coach Nathan Buckley described as a "sniffle", having been ordered to stay away from the club until their results came back.

On Tuesday the Magpies confirmed both Grundy and De Goey had received negative coronavirus test results and would be free to return to the club - and therefore play in Thursday night's game at Marvel Stadium.

"Much to the coaches' chagrin, there's probably been more lost sessions to runny noses in the last couple of months than we would like," Buckley said on Monday.

"But they're the extra precautions that we're taking to make sure that we don't have a repeat of last year and we've done really well to keep COVID out of the AFL cohort for the large part."

De Goey is coming off a four-goal performance against Carlton while Grundy is averaging 45 hitouts across the opening two rounds.
