As he reaches a significant AFL milestone Gold Coast defender Sean Lemmens believes years of hard work are starting to pay dividends for the Suns.

Lemmens will play his 100th game on Saturday against St Kilda at Metricon Stadium with the Suns looking to win three games in a row for just the fifth time in the club's history.

Back-to-back victories over Sydney and Collingwood have lifted the Suns to 10th on the ladder.

Lemmens' debut season in 2014 is still statistically the best in the Suns' history, winning 10 games with the club not managing more than six wins in a single campaign since then.

Despite that record, Lemmens believes the start to 2021 indicates brighter days lie ahead for the club.

"Not very often you get the chance to win three games in a row so it's exciting," he said.

"These last couple of years you can really start to see a lot of learning come through.

"Offensively, defensively, it's all starting to come together and we've got a good group that push each other."

To maintain their winning streak, Gold Coast will have to overcome a Saints team that is coming off a confidence-building win over Hawthorn.

The Suns have only won four matches out of 14 against the Saints and last beat them in 2016.

The margins in the past four games between the clubs have however been under a goal, with St Kilda securing a narrow four-point win last year at Metricon.

"We obviously had a good game last year against them," Lemmens said.

"We've shown the first seven rounds of the year that we're very, very competitive and got some good results the last couple of weeks so I think we'll be going in with the exact same mindset and aggression."

Saturday's game will provide a double milestone for the Suns with former Richmond player Brandon Ellis making his 200th appearance.

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
