West Coast have made six changes as they look for an AFL response against North Melbourne, with key duo Liam Ryan and Andrew Gaff to return.

Ruck/forward Nathan Vardy has been dropped for Monday's game at Optus Stadium along with Luke Foley and Luke Edwards, while Jack Redden (knee), Jamaine Jones (ankle) and Alex Witherden (groin) have all been sidelined through injury.

The Eagles will welcome back Ryan after a week's suspension while Gaff returns from the hand injury that ruled him out of last week's loss to Sydney.

West Coast also recalled defenders Josh Rotham and Jackson Nelson and utility Brandon Ah Chee, while last week's medical substitute Jack Petrucelle has been upgraded to the 22-man team.

Adam Simpson's side will be desperate to make a statement after consecutive poor losses, including a dire 92-point loss to the Swans at GMHBA Stadium.

North Melbourne have named an unchanged 22 after their loss to the Western Bulldogs.

Eddie Ford, who technically made his AFL debut as an unused medical substitute, dropped out of the Kangaroos' team.

Jared Polec is among North Melbourne's emergencies after making a successful return from a hamstring injury in the VFL last week.
