Four Hawthorn players have copped either fines or suspensions after getting caught up in several incidents during the club's AFL loss to Fremantle on Sunday.

Hawthorn star Jaegar O'Meara has escaped with a fine for his elbow to the ribs of Caleb Serong, but teammate Mitchell Lewis has been slapped with a one-match ban for striking the Dockers midfielder.

O'Meara can accept a $2000 fine with an early guilty plea for his strike that was classed as intentional conduct, low impact, and body contact.

Serong went off to recover following the first-quarter incident, and he copped another hit in the fourth term when he was struck by Lewis.

The AFL's match review officer classed that incident as intentional conduct, low impact, and high contact.

Hawthorn defender Jack Scrimshaw can accept a $1000 fine for his blatant off-the-ball trip on Fremantle skipper Nat Fyfe.

Scrimshaw stuck out his leg to trip Fyfe as the two-time Brownlow medallist was running towards the goalsquare in preparation for a teammate's set shot.

Hawthorn ruckman Jonathon Ceglar was offered a $2000 fine for engaging in rough conduct against Fremantle veteran Michael Walters.

North Melbourne stocks took another hit when veteran Ben Cunnington was slapped with a one-match ban for engaging in rough conduct against Adelaide's Rory Laird.

The incident was assessed as careless conduct, medium impact, and high contact.

Laird himself copped a $1500 fine for striking Kayne Turner.

Melbourne's Neville Jetta was fined $2000 for his dangerous tackle on Geelong's Sam Menegola.
