Hawthorn sharpshooter Jack Gunston will depart the Hawks as an unrestricted free agent to join Brisbane, where he will chase a fourth AFL premiership.

The 30-year-old booted 430 goals in 225 games for Hawthorn, winning flags in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Gunston was an All-Australian in 2018, won Hawthorn's best and fairest in 2020 and led their goalkicking in 2015, 2016 and 2020.

He follows former teammates Luke Hodge and Grant Birchall in heading to Brisbane for the twilight years of his career.

"We were always in open discussion with Jack and his management about his current position here at the club and what his future might look like," Hawthorn football boss Rob McCartney said.

"Today Jack informed us, after considerable thought, that he would exercise his right as a free agent to explore the market, and we respect that completely.

"Jack has been an incredible servant during his 11 seasons here at Hawthorn."

The Hawks re-signed young forwards Tyler Brockman and Emerson Jeka for 2023.

Brisbane face a busy off-season of wheeling and dealing.

Western Bulldogs midfielder Josh Dunkley has already requested a trade to the Lions, who are also going to secure No.1 draft pick, father-son prospect Will Ashcroft.

Brisbane have put to bed any speculation they would be willing to trade 2017 No.1 draft pick Cam Rayner, who booted 24 goals in a breakout campaign this season.

The Lions announced on Wednesday they have re-signed Jaxon Prior (until 2024), Carter Michael (2023) and Blake Coleman (2023).

Elsewhere, two-time Richmond premiership midfielder Jack Graham has met with Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley as a trade to the Power begins to take shape.

Graham is contracted with the Tigers for next year and he told reporters he was only in Adelaide to visit family.

But it seems that family visit has now involved a trip to Alberton, where Graham met with Hinkley and other members of Port Adelaide's hierarchy on Wednesday.

With GWS pair Jacob Hopper and Tim Taranto keen to join Richmond, Graham is heavily considering a move away from the Tigers.

On Tuesday, Port Adelaide's football manager Chris Davis confirmed Graham was among a number of South Australian-born players that were on the club's radar.

Graham finished second in Richmond's best and fairest count last year and the 24-year-old also featured in the club's flag-winning campaigns of 2017 and 2020.

Port Adelaide are in the box seat to secure premiership forward Junior Rioli, who has already told West Coast he wants to be traded to the Power.
