The net bowler who spent four nights in hospital after being hit by a David Warner drive has met with the opener and been presented a signed Australian shirt.

The local net bowler who was struck in the head by a David Warner straight drive has returned to meet with the Australian World Cup team.

Jay Plaha spent four nights in a London hospital after being hit last Saturday at The Oval.

The 22-year-old required urgent medical attention from Australia's medical staff before scans later cleared him of any serious injury.

Warner was shaken up by the incident in the lead up to Australia's loss to India, with former England captain Michael Vaughan questioning if it affected the opener's performance.

Plaha reunited with Warner before Australia's clash with Sri Lanka at The Oval and was presented with a signed team shirt.

"To come in and roll the arm over and unfortunately get hit was sad," Warner said.

"It was a real shock to us. But now he is recovering and he said he is back on his feet and bowling again in six weeks.

"We're going to get him around the group and we're going to get him to the Lord's game as well. Hopefully we can keep putting a smile on his face."
