The Perth Scorchers have given their spinning stocks a boost after signing Fawad Ahmed for the next two BBL seasons.

Ahmed has previously played for the Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Thunder in the BBL, and the 37-year-old hopes to achieve title success at the Scorchers.

"With a lot of great talent on the list and the opportunity to play at Optus Stadium, I am really excited to play for such a great club," Ahmed said.

"Brad Hogg showed us all how useful leg spin can be in the West and I can't wait for the season to start."

The Scorchers have also re-signed spinning allrounder Ashton Agar on a new deal that will run until the end of the 2021/22 BBL campaign.

"Having quality spinners in your team has become such a vital part of T20 cricket," Scorchers coach Adam Voges said.

"Fawad has played T20 cricket all over the world, he brings a wealth of experience and will add great variety to our attack.

The Scorchers are the most successful team in BBL history with three titles to their name and two runner-up finishes.

But they finished with the wooden spoon last season after tallying just four wins from 14 games, and will be without star opener Shaun Marsh, who has moved to the Melbourne Renegades.

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
