AUSTRALIA v PAKISTAN, FIRST TEST, DAY 2:

Score: Australia 3(dec)-589 versus Pakistan 6-96

Summary: David Warner's epic unbeaten 335 with the bat is followed by Mitchell Starc leading Australia's bowlers picking up six wickets against the hapless tourists. Pakistan have little hope of saving the Test to prevent an Australian sweep of the two-match series, though rain is forecast on Sunday and Monday.

Man of the moment: Warner's heroic knock hoists the Australian batsman into rare air. His score is the second-highest in Tests by an Australian, behind Matthew Hayden's 380, and the 10th highest by any batsman in 142 years of Test cricket.

Key moment: Warner, on 226, slices a catch to gully from the bowling of Muhammad Musa but the Pakistani debutant had overstepped and was called for a no ball. In the first Test in Brisbane, Naseem Shah was also on debut when he had Warner, on 56, caught behind - he went on to make 154.

Stat of the day: 0. The number of batsman in Test history who have reached 7,000 runs quicker than Steve Smith. The ex-Australian captain reached the milestone in 126 innings, five fewer than English great Walter Hammond who had held the record since 1946.

Quote of the day: "It's definitely going to be a moment I cherish for the rest of my life." - David Warner sums up his greatest ever day as a Test cricket.
