Michael Neser and Mitchell Swepson will be released from the Australian Test squad to play in the Big Bash League after being left out of the team for the SCG.

Neser will be able to play for Adelaide on Sunday against the Sydney Sixers and remain with his Twenty20 team for the rest of the summer.

Swepson will turn out for Brisbane against the Sydney Thunder on Monday night after missing the game against Hobart on Friday night.

It means Australia won't have any players in reserve as concussion substitutes, with officials confident they will be able to bring one to Sydney in time if required.

The pair both missed chances to make their Test debuts this summer but could come into reckoning for the winter tour of Bangladesh.
