Superstar allrounder Ellyse Perry has made a successful return from injury as Victoria handed Western Australia a WNCL thrashing.

Ellyse Perry has made an encouraging return from injury after helping Victoria to a dominant 117-run Women's National Cricket League win over Western Australia.

Perry made 24 runs and took 1-20 from seven overs on debut for the Vics at the Junction Oval on Tuesday as she eased back into action for the first time since suffering a shoulder injury in November.

The resumption of the WNCL is a key marker for Perry and her Australian teammates as they ramp up preparations for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup/

The tournament on home soil kicks off in six weeks.

Elyse Villani helped put the home side in a commanding position after WA won the toss, with the opener belting 99 runs from 127 balls.

Victoria went on to post 7-259 from their 50 overs.

In reply, skipper Chloe Piparo top-scored with 60 from 76 balls for the visitors, but her departure at 3-103 in the 23rd over sparked a middle-order collapse.

Annabel Sutherland (3-21 from eight overs) and Georgia Wareham (3-30 from 9.5) were the pick of the bowlers as WA were dismissed for 142 in the 41st over.

Perry hasn't played since injuring an AC joint while playing for the Sydney Sixers in November that ended her WBBL season.

She confirmed on Monday that although the amount of overs she bowled in her return would be restricted, she feels fully fit after a cautious rehabilitation.

Batting at No.4, Perry made 24 runs from 32 balls, including three fours, before she was caught by Piparo off the bowling of Nicole Bolton.

In her return from a mental health break, Victorian opener Sophie Molineux impressed with 47 runs in a 101-run opening partnership with Villani.

She also took 2-22 from seven overs.
