Captain Mitch Marsh has smashed 93 from 41 balls to help the Scorchers post 3-213 against Brisbane Heat in the BBL in Perth.

Mitch Marsh has piled the pressure on Brisbane Heat skipper Chris Lynn after the Scorchers captain and opener smashed his side to 3-213 in the Big Bash League clash in Perth.

Marsh won the bat flip and opted to bat first at Optus Stadium on Saturday night knowing the Scorchers to be masters of defending a total, a mindful that their opponents are capable of posting big scores when put in to bat.

The Scorchers captain produced the best batting performance of his 82-game Twenty20 career, reaching 93 not out from 41 balls in a knock that featured eight sixes and three fours.

It was a remarkable display of his trademark power-hitting and even Test paceman James Pattinson wasn't spared.

Returning for the Heat from international duties, Pattinson went for 0-52 in four overs.

Ben Laughlin fared even worse finishing with 1-60 after Marsh took him to town in the final over.

The batsman finished the innings with three consecutive sixes to ensure the Scorchers went into the break with all the momentum.

Not only did Marsh post his career-high, but it was the highest-ever score posted in BBL history by the Scorchers.

Cameron Bancroft was also impressive for Perth posting 41 not out from 29 balls with three sixes.

Scorchers Josh Inglis (28 from 14) and Liam Livingstone (39 from 31) also chipped in by putting on 39 for the first wicket from 21 balls.

The Heat will have to produce the second-biggest run chase in BBL history to record their fifth win of the season before the arrival of star import AB de Villiers.
