Is star Australian allrounder Ellyse Perry carrying a minor niggle?

Perry had her right shoulder strapped when she left Perth on Tuesday - the same shoulder that she injured during the WBBL season.

There were even whispers before Monday's win over Sri Lanka that Perry may have tweaked her shoulder in the lead-up to the match.

Perry returned figures of 0-23 off four overs against Sri Lanka.

The official word was that the strapping is just precautionary, and fans will no doubt be hoping that it's not anything to worry about.

"I haven't seen her miss a session," Perry's teammate Nicola Carey said.

"She's been at every session, played every game and bowled really well and batted well when needed to, so I think she's OK."

Perry looms as a key figure in Australia's bid to defend their T20 World Cup crown.

Australia's batting has been shaky in the opening two games, but the team will have a great chance to bounce back to form when they take on minnows Bangladesh in Canberra on Thursday.

Carey made her first appearance at a World Cup in the five-wicket win over Sri Lanka, and she took the chance with both hands by snaring 2-18 from three overs.

That haul included the key scalp of Chamari Atapattu, who plundered 50 off 38 balls.

Amazingly, Carey was part of three previous World Cup campaigns without breaking through for a game.

The 26-year-old was thrilled to finally play at a World Cup.

"I've spent plenty of time watching the games and I'm pretty good at mixing the drinks now, so it was really nice to get out there for my first World Cup game," Carey joked.

"It was a pretty important game, so to get out there and contribute and get the win was really pleasing."

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
