Test aspirants Moises Henriques and Nic Maddinson have shared the award for player of the year in the Sheffield Shield.

Henriques and Maddinson, who enjoyed productive seasons with the bat for NSW and Victoria respectively, both received 16 votes in 2019-20.

Western Australian young gun Cameron Green (13 votes) was third on the leaderboard, ahead of veterans Shaun Marsh (11) and Peter Siddle (10).

The Shield final and last round of the regular season were both scrapped because of the COVID-19 pandemic, with table-topping NSW named champions.

Henriques and Maddinson's next chance for a Test recall was going to be Australia's tour of Bangladesh in June, but that series is likely to be postponed because of the global health crisis.

Ashleigh Gardner (Lord's Taverners Indigenous player of the year), Tasmania (men's and women's spirit of cricket award) and Paul Wilson (umpire award) also won 2019-20 gongs.

Tasmania shared the women's spirit of cricket award with ACT and NSW.
