Will Pucovski scored another double ton as Victoria held the edge over Western Australia after day two of their Sheffield Shield clash.
Will Pucovski and Shaun Marsh ensured it was on for young and old at Karen Rolton Oval as the runs flowed in the Sheffield Shield clash between Victoria and Western Australia.
At stumps on day two, WA were 4-198 in response to Victoria's 4(dec)-414.
Marsh, 37, continued to defy his years this season with his 104 not out his third century across a four-match stretch which also included an 88.
Yet, unsurprisingly, much of the attention was again on Test opener-in-waiting Pucovski.
Resuming on 183, the 22-year-old became the first Australian to score back-to-back first-class double centuries since Michael Clarke (Australia v South Africa in 2012).
Pucovski was ultimately out for 202 (off 347 balls, 27 fours), caught by substitute fielder Asthon Turner at mid-wicket off the bowling of Matthew Kelly (3-84).
With his dismissal, Pucovski has an average of 457 for the Shield season.
Pucovski said it had been a long six weeks in camp for Victoria to play just two games and he was glad he and his teammates could make the most of it.
Having suffered mental health issues in the past, Pucovski said he'd been working on his brain game.
"There was probably a stage yesterday (Sunday) where I sort of felt myself losing it a bit but managed to sort of switch back into gear," he said.
As for the Test chatter, he said he's largely ignored it.
"To be honest, I have deleted basically every cricket ap and most social media things off my phone," Pucovski said.
"It's probably something that is completely out of my control (Test selection), so all I can do is present myself every day and hopefully do well."
Peter Handscomb made a solid 84 before the Bushrangers declared and ripped into the WA line-up.
The dismissals of Cameron Bancroft (5) and Sam Whiteman (14) left WA teetering at 2-20 before Marsh combined with impressive allrounder Cameron Green (56) to ease them back into the match.
Jon Holland was the pick of the Victorian bowlers with 2-26.
