Sydney Sixers allrounder Marizanne Kapp has returned to the WBBL hub and is awaiting a report from cardiologists after suffering a heart scare during a match.

Marizanne Kapp is out of hospital and hopeful of being cleared to play in Saturday's WBBL match after experiencing an elevated heart rate during the Sydney Sixers' loss to Perth.

Kapp required medical assistance after the scare on Wednesday night, which occurred while batting at Blacktown International Sportspark.

The South African was taken to hospital for tests before returning to the WBBL Hub later in the night.

The Sixers say Kapp is in good spirits and the club and player are hopeful she will be cleared to take the field for this weekend's clash with Hobart.

The allrounder is awaiting a report from cardiologists, which will ultimately dictate whether she plays on Saturday.

"Obviously her health is our number one priority and we will take whatever advice we need to from that review," the Sixers said in a statement.

Kapp, who has a pre-existing heart condition, suffered palpitations during a Twenty20 World Cup match earlier this year.

The Sixers shot to the top of the ladder after an undefeated start to the WBBL season but currently sit in third spot after dropping two games - both against the Scorchers.
