Hamstrung allrounder Moises Henriques will miss the pink-ball tour game at the SCG as Australia's injury toll continues to grow.

Henriques was slated to play for Australia A in India's final tune-up for the first Test.

But Queensland allrounder Jack Wildermuth has been parachuted into the Australia A squad on the eve of the match that begins at the SCG on Friday.

Henriques, who made a productive return to international cricket against India after two and a half years of being overlooked, is hoping to make his comeback in the Sydney Sixers' clash with Adelaide Strikers on December 20.

The 33-year-old was not in the Test squad.

However, the veteran would almost certainly have been the man added to Justin Langer's squad if anything were to happen to 21-year-old allrounder Cameron Green.

Henriques is the latest on a long list of Australia's recent injuries, which is headlined by David Warner (groin).

Cricket Australia confirmed Warner will miss the first Test against India, which starts on December 17.

Aaron Finch (glute), Marcus Stoinis (side strain) and Ashton Agar (calf) were also forced to miss white-ball games against India, while Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc both reported minor back niggles.

Warner, Finch, Stoinis and Hazlewood all spent a fortnight quarantining in Sydney after returning from the IPL.

"I actually addressed the CA board the other day, one of the challenges we've got with such tight schedules ... we've got six injuries now, which is really unusual," national coach Langer said on Sunday.

"We'll obviously review it.

"That's one of the challenges moving forward, when guys are playing all the tours (and have) different sorts of preparations.

"Each injury has its own individual reasons but that's one of the challenges. There's other challenges."

Jackson Bird (calf) and Will Pucovski (concussion) suffered injuries while playing for Australia A during the first of India's two tour games, with the latter expected to be unavailable for at least the pink-ball Test in Adelaide.
