Brisbane Heat's master blaster Chris Lynn will miss the next three weeks of the BBL season because of a hamstring strain.

Scans have revealed Lynn suffered a low grade strain in his right hamstring during the warm-up to Wednesday night's loss to Adelaide at the Gabba.

The Heat fell two runs short of the Strikers, leaving them winless after three matches and in danger of a fourth-straight campaign without finals.

Brisbane will face Hobart on Sunday and have a further three matches over the next two weeks in what could be a season-defining period without their talisman.

Jimmy Peirson, who stood in for Lynn as skipper against the Strikers and nearly secured an unlikely win with an unbeaten 69 off 36 deliveries, said the 30-year-old's absence would clearly be felt.

"He's our best player, no doubt about it, but we've got enough to get the job done," Peirson said.

"We'll click.

"It's funny sometimes when your best player goes out you have to make the most of what you've got and that can bring a team together. I believe that this team can do that.

"Obviously we'll miss his leadership and what he brings to the table there as well, it'll be sorely missed, but we have to move on.

"We haven't got time to dwell. We've got five games in quick succession."

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
