A snapshot of day three of the fourth cricket Test between Australia and India at the Gabba.
Score: Australia 369 and 0-21; India 336
Summary: After some more defiant Indian batting, Australia will take a 54-run advantage into day four. Rain expected on Monday and Tuesday adds intrigue as the hosts look to set a target then chase a series-clinching victory.
Man of the moment: Washington Sundar. As if picking up Steve Smith as your first Test scalp wasn't enough, the debutant allrounder struck a fluent 62 on Sunday, sharing in a 123-run seventh-wicket partnership with Shardul Thakur (67) that tore up the script at the Gabba.
Key moment: With India teetering at 6-186 and Australia perhaps beginning to sniff a victory, Thakur marched to the crease and hooked Pat Cummins for six to open his account. It signalled a brilliant rearguard stand alongside Sundar that may secure India the draw they need to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Stat of the day: He's had five chances missed off his bowling but with just seven wickets for the series across 156 overs, Nathan Lyon's strike rate of 133.7 is his worst in a home Test series.
Quote of the day: "I think you've got to answer with a little bit of fire; get your tail up. The body language just isn't quite there; they're not quite in the game, not in the fight, in the contest," Matthew Hayden told Channel 7 as Australia chased a breakthrough.
