Western Australia have inflicted more Marsh Cup pain on Victoria after beating the visitors by 170 runs at the WACA on Tuesday.

Josh Inglis and Joel Paris combined to heap more pain on Victoria in the Marsh Cup as the hosts steamrolled the Bushrangers by 170 runs at the WACA on Tuesday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Western Warriors made 317 thanks largely to a brilliant 91 from just 57 balls from Inglis.

In return the visitors, who are still chasing their first win of the competition, were bundled out for 147 in just 30.1 overs.

The chief destroyer was left-arm fast bowler Joel Paris, who snared 4-21 off seven overs.

Paris got the big scalp of Nic Maddinson early in the innings before adding Jonathan Merlo, James Pattinson and Scott Boland to his list of victims.

Spinner Liam O'Connor spun his web, dismissing Sam Harper (60), Matt Short and Mackenzie Harvey in his figures of 3-35.

The game was effectively over when opening bat Harper, who was the only batsman to offer any resistance along with Peter Handscomb (42), was caught and bowled by O'Connor in the 26th over.

Earlier, exciting wicketkeeper-batsman Inglis showed his array of shots at the wicket with his enterprising knock.

It was more impressive because Inglis came to the wicket during a tricky passage of play when young Merlo threatened to derail the innings.

The 22-year-old former Australia U-19 paceman first removed Test star Cameron Green for 13 before sending Shaun Marsh packing two balls later to have the hosts 4-147.

But Inglis took charge and smashed nine boundaries and five sixes before being bowled by Merlo, with the Warriors 7-295 and out of any danger.

Merlo's five-wicket haul for 71 was the only shining light in another disappointing result for the Bushrangers.
