AUSTRALIA v ENGLAND, SECOND TEST, DAY FOUR:

Score: Australia 9(dec)-473 and 9(dec)-230 versus England 236 and 4-82.

Summary: England briefly halted Australia's momentum with the bat, but were still set a fourth-innings target of 468 to win. They lost four wickets in the second half of the day, leaving them 90 overs to survive with six wickets left on Monday.

Man of the moment: Jhye Richardson. He went wicketless in the first innings but nicked off both of England's openers to leave them in a world of pain.

Key moment: Michael Neser's ball to get rid of Dawid Malan. It swung back, beat the bat and crashed into Malan's front pad. A review showed it taking the top of middle stump, ensuring Australia's debutant removed one of England's pillars of resistance and brought Joe Root to the wicket.

Stat of the day: Joe Root's 24 took him to the top of the charts for most runs as England Test captain. However his dismissal just before stumps left the door wide open for Australia to run through England's middle and lower order on Monday.

Quote of the day: "Where's the towel? Get the towel" - Members of England's medical staff as they tried to assess Joe Root's second hit to the testicles in one day, while moving the spider camera from above him.
