The Perth Scorchers are a perfect 6-0 this BBL season despite being forced to play their past five games on the road.

Star paceman Jason Behrendorff says the Perth Scorchers' motto of playing brave and fearless cricket has been a crucial part of the team's stunning start to the BBL season.

The ladder leading Scorchers improved their record to a perfect 6-0 after crushing the Melbourne Renegades by eight wickets with 19 balls to spare on Sunday night.

Mitch Marsh (42no off 33 balls) and Colin Munro (58no off 32 balls) starred with the bat after Behrendorff (2-19 off four overs) had led the way with the ball.

What makes the Scorchers' irresistible form all the more remarkable is the fact they've spent the entire season bar the first game on the road due to WA's hard border.

And with WA's hard border not lifting until February 5, they will have to spend the rest of the season on the road even if they earn hosting rights during the finals.

Behrendorff said the mateship within the group and the determination to play brave cricket have been crucial aspects of the team's stunning form.

"There's no real secret, it's just a lot of hard work and we've got a really tight-knit group," Behrendorff told AAP.

"Everyone is having a really good time together.

"It's a really good feeling in the group. We are playing with a lot of confidence.

"Something we've spoken a lot about is playing brave and aggressive T20 cricket. It's paying dividends - being 6-0 is a really nice spot to be in."

The Scorchers face a series of big tests from December 28 through to January 9 when they take on the Sydney Thunder twice, the Melbourne Stars twice, and the second-placed Sydney Sixers twice.

"We're really well prepared for that, and well planned," Behrendorff said.

"We're going to keep our foot on the gas and play brave and fearless cricket like what we've been doing."

The Scorchers will be back in action on Tuesday when they take on the third-placed Thunder at Manuka Oval in Canberra.

Behrendorff has starred with the ball this season, with his accuracy against the Renegades proving particularly useful.

"It was nice to feel I was pretty much able to put the ball where I wanted to," he said.

"I know that I'm able to execute my skills and my plan. I feel really confident with what I'm able to do."

Kurtis Patterson (quad) is a chance to return against the Thunder.

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
