AUSTRALIA v ENGLAND, FOURTH TEST, DAY FOUR:

Score: Australia 8(dec)-416 & 6(dec)-265, England 294 & 0-30

Summary: Australia required 42 minutes to clean up the tail. The hosts slipped to 4-86 before recalled veteran Usman Khawaja scored his second century of the match. England's openers navigated 11 overs after Pat Cummins' declaration set them a target of 388.

Man of the moment: Khawaja. Made it twin tons with his sparkling 101 not out, as he pulled, drove and reverse-swept England's attack. Khawaja began the game as a fill in for the COVID-19 infected Travis Head, but will surely end it a big chance of keeping his spot in the team and moving to opener for the Hobart Test.

Key moment: Khawaja and Cameron Green's 179-run fifth-wicket partnership for Australia. When Green came to the wicket at 4-86, it was still possible England could roll through Australia and fight their way back into the match. By the time Green departed (74), there could be only one winner.

Stat of the day: Scott Boland's average of 8.72 is the equal-lowest of any player in Test history with a minimum of 10 wickets.

Quote of the day: "I think it's time for him to move on and go with someone else ... That has to be Ben Stokes." - Ricky Ponting on the Seven Network, calling for Joe Root to stand down as captain.
