If the Sydney Sixers are to pull off their Big Bash three-peat, Ben Dwarshuis and their stunning pace attack will probably have a fair bit to do with it.

Defending just 150 on Tuesday night in Geelong - a total that looked under par - Dwarshuis, Jackson Bird, Sean Abbott and Hayden Kerr had the ball talking from the start and took nine wickets between them, rolling the Melbourne Renegades for 105.

After the first five-wicket haul of his T20 career, Dwarshuis said the quartet worked together to get the best out of each other.

"Obviously we've got a great captain (Moises Henriques) and he marshals his troops really well and he sort of reads the game really nicely and knows each of his bowlers really well," he told Channel Seven.

"The wicket was a little bit low and a little bit slow towards the end there ... mainly just trying to hit the wicket hard and a couple of balls stayed low.

"(I) made that work a little bit but credit to our bowlers up the top, they set the tone early."

With Kerr (17 wickets) and Abbott (15) both sitting inside this season's top-five wicket-takers and Dwarshuis (12) finding form in a hurry, the Sixers are poised to be a tough ask for any side to knock off come finals time.

But as the "challenging season" enters its most crucial phase, Dwarshuis said it was most important to simply enjoy things out on the ground.

"Games close together, a lot of travel, a bit of uncertainty around what the Hub is going to look like and stuff like that - it's just about finding someone close in the team, one of your mates and having a chat," he said.

"Once you get out on the field, just enjoy it. Every time you step onto the field, it's good fun."

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
