Star Western Australia paceman Jhye Richardson has been ruled out of Wednesday's one-day cup final against South Australia and Australia's ODI tour of India after suffering another hamstring injury.

Richardson missed the second half of the BBL season after injuring his left hamstring while playing for the Perth Scorchers on January 4.

His return for club side Fremantle last Saturday lasted just four overs before he tweaked the same hamstring.

A timeframe on his return hasn't been determined, but he will miss Australia's three-match ODI tour of India, which starts on March 17.

Tasmanian Nathan Ellis has been named as his replacement.

The injury is a bitter blow for Richardson, whose Test and ODI career has been thwarted by a series of setbacks, most notably shoulder injuries.

Ladder leaders WA have made three changes to their 13-player squad for the final at the WACA Ground, welcoming seamers Matt Kelly and AJ Tye back into the fold, alongside star allrounder Marcus Stoinis.

Hilton Cartwright, David Moody and Charlie Stobo were omitted.

Kelvin Smith has been added to the Redbacks' 13-man squad off the back of good Premier Cricket form.

WA squad: Ashton Turner (c), Ashton Agar, Cameron Bancroft, Jason Behrendorff, Cam Gannon, Aaron Hardie, Josh Inglis, Matt Kelly, Mitch Marsh, Josh Philippe, D'Arcy Short, Marcus Stoinis, Andrew Tye

South Australis squad: Wes Agar, Jake Carder, Daniel Drew, Henry Hunt, Spencer Johnson, Jake Lehmann (c), Ben Manenti, Nathan McAndrew, Nathan McSweeney, Harry Nielsen, Liam Scott, Kelvin Smith, Henry Thornton
