Australian star Minjee Lee has positioned herself for a weekend attack midway through the the LPGA Tour's BMW Ladies Championship in Busan, South Korea.

World No.6 Lee shot a second round three-under 69 on Friday to be three shots behind joint leaders Hee Jeong Lim (66) and Na Rin An (69) of South Korea.

American Danielle Kang (68) and South Korea's In Gee Chun (69) were tied third, a shot behind the front-runners who were at 11 under.

World No.2 Jin Young Ko was ominously placed at nine under after shooting the day's best score of 64.

Australians Hannah Green (72) and Su Oh (69) were tied 26th at four under.
