Just two shots behind leader Adam Scott, Min Woo Lee is excited to test himself on the final afternoon of the Australian PGA Championship at Royal Pines.

Min Woo Lee knows his stocks are rising but that his fledgling professional career will be tested like never before when he begins Sunday's final Australian PGA Championship just two shots from the lead.

The 21-year-old only turned professional in January but has quickly established himself as one for the future in a breakout year that has seen his profile rise sharply.

The Perth brother of Australian women's No.1 Minjee narrowly missed full European Tour status for next year though and admits a good showing at Royal Pines "would solve some problems" in 2020.

He sits equal third, two shots back from Adam Scott, who he played with and impressed on the first two days and joked on Saturday that he still "didn't know" what it took to win a big event.

"I'm still looking for that; hopefully, it's this week," he said.

"But I'm still learning a lot about myself.

"I'm a pretty fiery player, but I'm trying to minimise that a little bit (but) it was worse a couple years ago. What you see now is better."

Lee made birdie on the 14th thanks to a made bunker wedge he rated "10 out of 10" and said it was an eight out of 10 round after a frustrating Friday.

He also saved par with a nerveless up-and-down on the 18th to avoid a third back-nine bogey.

"There's a few mistakes, but I held in there and hit very good shots, probably one of the best ball-striking rounds I had all year," he said.

"It was nice to back that up and hopefully there's one more tomorrow."

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
