Australia's water polo women have bounced back to beat China 10-8 after losing their opening match against Italy at the World League Super Final in Budapest.
The Stingers got down to business shooting the first two goals through Olympian Rowie Webster and Bronte Halligan, though, China were keen to catch up and locked the scores 2-2 at the end of the first period.
Hannah Buckling netted two goals at the opening of the second quarter but China nabbed another before the buzzer making it 4-3 at half time.
The third quarter stayed tight, with never more than one goal between the two sides, but the Aussies managed to keep their noses in front 7-6.
The Stingers powered home in the final quarter with Zoe Arancini, Buckling and Webster all producing goals to cement the 10-8 win.
Game MVP Buckling and Webster both finished with a goal trifecta.
"It was a tough game against China, it is always tough against such an opponent," Buckling said.
"We had some mistakes, so we need to improve and strengthen certain points of our game."
The Stingers' win followed an 11-9 loss to European powerhouse Italy on Tuesday.
They next take on the Netherlands on Friday night AEST.
