F1 driver Norris joins Supercars Eseries

3 minute read

Formula One driver Lando Norris will make his Supercars Eseries debut in Wednesday night's fifth round.

Lando Norris has become the latest Formula One driver to join the Supercars Eseries.

After Red Bull star Max Verstappen impressed three weeks ago, McLaren's Norris will line up for the fifth round of the 10-week virtual racing series to be held on Wednesday night.

The 20-year-old Norris will drive for Holden Supercars outfit Walkinshaw Andretti United in fifth round action to be held on Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium's grand prix circuit.

Norris has been a regular on the iRacing virtual platform in various categories after the Formula One series was shut down due to coronavirus.

F1 organisers have targeted the Austrian grand prix from July 3-5 as their return race.

"I'm super excited to announce I'll be joining the Supercars grid in Spa this week," said Norris, who finished 11th in his debut F1 season last year.

"There's a lot of fast drivers in it, it's going to be very tough, very competitive, but I've watched pretty much all of the races so far in the championship and it looks a lot of fun."

Norris has a hard act to follow - Verstappen turned heads when he grabbed three runner-up placings in round two's four races.

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
