Patrick Dangerfield and Erin Williams are part of a cross-code alliance of sports stars heading a national campaign against racism called We Got You.

Four Australian sports stars are leading a national campaign to stamp out racism and promote equality, diversity and inclusivity across all levels of sport.

Called "We Got You", the cross-code alliance is being spearheaded by AFL's Patrick Dangerfield, rugby league's Daly Cherry-Evans, Indigenous soccer star Lydia Williams and Erin Phillips, representing WNBA/AFLW.

The athlete-led campaign is dedicated to shining a spotlight on the issues and incidents that athletes across all sports face - from grassroots through to elite level.

It is a pledge by those athletes to stand in solidarity against racism and be the voice for change.

"We are asking our fellow athletes across all sports in Australia to make a commitment of support by working together with their teammates to change the sporting environment throughout all sports by eliminating racism at all levels - starting today," Dangerfield said in a statement.

Cherry-Evans said they wanted firm penalties imposed to create a safe environment for players that is free of racism.

The four will be part of a virtual panel and press conference on Wednesday afternoon to explore what changes can be made across all codes.

Other panellists include NBA star Joe Ingles, cricketer Peter Siddle, netball's Romelda Aiken and Wallabies prop Scott Sio.
